Saffron Maple Latte
Saffron is magic. It adds the most gorgeous golden and radiant yellow to whatever it infuses. Supportive benefits include improved mood, libido, and sexual function, as well as reduced anxiety and ADHD symptoms; PMS, menopause and postpartum symptoms, and enhanced weight loss. It is a favorite gentle medicinal plant that is easy to add into your diet.
Heat and whisk or froth together:
- 4-8 oz choice milk (I use Straus’ whole milk. *go for the full fat option— most reduced fat options emit fat and add more sugar. Plant-based milks work great too— I especially like with coconut milk.)
- 1-2 tsp maple syrup (Costco offers a great organic one.)
- 1 pinch of saffron strands (5-8). Prepare the saffron by infusing the strands in two tablespoons of freshly boiled water in a small bowl; simply pour the water over the saffron strands and leave to infuse for ten minutes. (I use saffron from Moonflowers Co. or The Fullest Co. — they both make beautifully sourced options.)
- 1/2 to full tsp (Over)Achiever Ally adaptogen blend (Daily restorative adaptogen blend for overworked body, mind, & spirit. Increase focus, stamina, performance, & endurance. Reduce inflammation, brain fog, & low libido. Especially beneficial to recovery and increased health for workaholics & athletes.)
- 1 tbsp collagen peptides (I use a pasture raised and grass fed ones from the bulk section at my local market. Some lovely benefits include increased skin radiance and elasticity, reduced joint pain and inflammation, and digestion aid.)
This tastes cozy, illuminating, and like soft flower petals dancing on your tastebuds!*Sip and enjoy outside, in the morning Sun, letting the gentle morning rays build your melanin, promote balanced hormones, and a better mood, just to name a few benefits!
*Saffron is generally considered safe for most individuals; its is a gentle and lovely plant, however, saffron should be used with caution by pregnant women, as it may stimulate the uterus and potentially cause contractions.
